A series of maps from data gathered by Capitalise, CCCS and Citizens Advice combining information on debt advice clients, each broken down by borough and mapping age, ethnicity and other characteristics, for 2010-11 and 2011-12.

Giving back to communities of residence and of origin

This study of remittance culture”, funded by Trust for London, finds that families sending money abroad (which represent 5% of UK households) are more likely to give to British charities than other UK households. 42% of UK households who send money overseas also give to British charities, compared with 29% of the general UK population. Taken together the research results show how hard working many migrants and people from minority communities are. “They are less likely to be on benefits and show great awareness and care for their communities in the UK and abroad” comment the researchers.
